‘Well Informed’ 1 hour Session

Screening -water‘Well Informed’ 1 hour Session is an education program that gives well owners the opportunity to have their well water samples to be screened for common contaminants including fecal coliform bacteria, nitrates, and high salinity. The screening of the water sample is followed by a 1 hour explanation of the screening results and water well protection practices and focuses on wellhead protection and recommendations for remediating well contamination.

May 17, 2016 - Van Horn, TX

Pick Up:

  • Sample bags and bottles can be picked up at the Culberson County AgriLife Extension office, 300 La Caverna St. in Van Horn
  • Sample bags and bottles should be turned in May 17 from 8:30–9:30 a.m. at the Culberson County AgriLife Extension office, 300 La Caverna St. in Van Horn

Drop Off:

  • A $10 per sample fee will be collected when bags and bottles are picked up by participants which will be available at least a week before turn-in dates.

Explanation of Results:

  • May 18, a follow-up meeting to explain screening results will be held at 7:30 p.m., at the Van Horn Convention Center, 1801 W. Broadway in Van Horn

 

May 18, 2016 - Rankin, Big Lake, & Garden City, TX

Pick Up:

  • Sample bags and bottles can be picked up at the Upton County AgriLife Extension office, 1000 TX-329 in Rankin; Reagan County Extension office, 1430 N. Ohio in Big Lake; or Glasscock County Extension office, 117 South Myrl St. in Garden City
  • Sample bags and bottles should be turned in May 18 from 8:30–9:30 a.m. at the Upton County AgriLife Extension office, 1000 TX-329 in Rankin; Reagan County Extension office, 1430 N. Ohio in Big Lake; or Glasscock County Extension office, 117 South Myrl St. in Garden City
