‘Well Informed’ 1 hour Session

Screening -water‘Well Informed’ 1 hour Session is an education program that gives well owners the opportunity to have their well water samples to be screened for common contaminants including fecal coliform bacteria, nitrates, and high salinity. The screening of the water sample is followed by a 1 hour explanation of the screening results and water well protection practices and focuses on wellhead protection and recommendations for remediating well contamination.   

Upcoming Well Screenings

August 8th, 2016 – Jim Hogg County, TX 

Pick Up // August 1st—5th 

  • Pick up sample containers at least a week before turn in date
  • Sample containers can be picked up at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office for Jim Hogg County, 201 N. Oak, Suite 9 in Hebbronville

Drop Off // August 8th 

  • Drop off samples between 8:30—10:00am
  • Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office for Jim Hogg County, 201 N. Oak, Suite 9 in Hebbronville 

Results Meeting // August 10th 

  • A meeting explaining screening results will be held at 6:00 p.m., August 10
  • First National Bank, 305 N. Smith Street in Hebbronville.  

August 9th, 2016 – Starr County, TX 

Pick Up // August 1st—8th 

  • Pick up sample containers at least a week before turn in date
  • Sample containers can be picked up at two locations
  • AgriLife Extension office in Starr County, 500 N. Britton Ave, in Rio Grande City  -or-
  • Starr County Precinct #4 Warehouse, 3938 FM 755 in La Glora
  • Samples must be taken within 24 hours of drop off 

Drop Off // August 9th 

  • Drop off samples between 8:30—9:30am at either location on August 9th
  • AgriLife Extension office for Starr County, 500 N. Britton Ave, in Rio Grande City  -or-
  • Starr County Precinct #4 Warehouse, 3938 FM 755 in La Glora 

Results Meeting // August 11th 

  • A meeting explaining screening results will be held at 1:30 p.m., August 11
  • Abel Gonzales Community Center in San Isidro
